About Productive Mommies

My mission is to help busy moms like you keep your focus and win in all areas of your life.

I do this by providing tools, systems, and ideas to help you lead a more intentional life.  I teach on a variety of areas, including personal development, family life, home management, rest & recreation, as well as running a home business.

What to Expect

I try to post content once a week.  I also aim to put out a new course each month.  I also provide additional information, challenges, and resources to everyone on my email list.  If you have not signed up yet, be sure to do that now.  Your information will be kept private and you can unsubscribe at any time.

My Story

I grew up in Michigan and have always been an animal lover.  I went to Michigan State to become a vet and somehow ended up an accountant.  Hubby and I got married, moved across the country to Colorado, started our first business, and I got pregnant with our first child… all in less than two years.

After our first baby was born, I knew that I needed to be home full time… and that I wanted more babies.  Lots and lots more.  (seriously, her umbilical cord was still attached to the placenta when I told Hubby that I wanted another one.)

Since then, we have had five more babies (all BOYS!), moved five times (all in Colorado) and yet I still have the same Suburban we moved out here with in 2006.  We started building our farm in 2010 and lost it in 2016.  I got super sick (Adrenal Fatigue) while pregnant with our sixth child and am still recovering. {check out my adrenal fatigue story here}  The loss of our farm, unexpected pregnancy, spending two months homeless, and dealing with the adrenal fatigue was by far the hardest time of our lives… but we are thankful for God’s blessings and how He used that time to both save us and make us better in all sorts of ways.  {here is the full story of our 2016 adventure}

How We Do Things

I often forget that we are a little different than most…  I have had all our babies at home, we homeschool, do our best to eat organic, grass fed, raw, and local when possible.  We make most things from scratch, co-sleep with our babies (and children till they are ready to move into their own bedroom – right now we have 2-3 in our room every night), use cloth diapers, keep our kids with us at church, consider our chiropractor as our doctor and treat most illnesses at home (minus one incident when our oldest son had a broken hand).

I do not believe that we “know it all”, and reserve the right to change my mind regarding anything in the future – as we have done many times in the past.  I believe in grace and embracing where you are at in life, continually working to move forward.  I do my best not to judge others, as we rarely have any idea where they are really coming from.  I do, however, believe it is essential to be real – with ourselves and with each other.

What’s Important to Me

I believe in the importance of living my life with integrity, purposefulness, discipline, and diligence.  There is also great value in orderliness, modesty, and fortitude.  But most important of all, are gratitude, respect, faith, and generosity. {more about giving back here}

I am also completely obsessed with doing the best for our children.  Hubby and I both continuously focus on leaving an intentional legacy that will be passed down for generations.  We believe that our kids are to be equipped with an inheritance that is more than just money and that is apparent the moment they are launched into the real world.  Our goal is to prepare them in the best ways possible to utilize the gifts and talents that they were born with.

Much of this is summed up well in my personal mission statement:

I aim to build and leave a legacy of tradition, faith, assets, preparation, and intentionality.  I inspire others to do more with the lives they have been gifted, all while experiencing as much as possible with my family.

Some of my favorite things include:

  • My family
  • Reading
  • Technology
  • Writing
  • Photography
  • Animals of all sorts
  • Cooking & baking
  • Learning and experiencing new things
