My Favorite Things

Here is my ever growing list of recommended resources.  I happen to be obsessed with researching things to crazy lengths before I commit to buying.  For this reason, I pretty much always end up loving what I purchase and also know why it is better than anything else out there.

Some of the items below are connected to an affiliate link, and some I get nothing for the referral.  Please know that I only recommend items that I have used and love.  The nominal commission that I receive for the referral would never be worth sharing something less than awesome.

You will never pay anything extra when purchasing through a referral link and often times, you will actually receive a discount when you use the link or code provided.

I hope that this list helps you get some things that you love while saving the time and energy that I put into researching them. 🙂

General Shopping

Amazon Prime

We avoid the grocery store and shopping in general as much as we can.  Amazon makes it possible!  I love the free two-day shipping that comes with my Prime Membership.

Azure Standard

We order most of our dry goods from Azure once a month.  We also get our grass fed raw cheeses and butter.  They have a great selection of natural and organic products and are now distributing to most areas of the U.S.

Door to Door Organics

We order the majority of our produce from Door to Door.  I love not having to go pick it up at the store and the quality is excellent.

Thrive Market

Thrive Market offers organic, healthy food at wholesale prices.  They have the ability to shop based on diet including gluten-free, paleo, raw, and vegan.  In addition to food, they also have personal care products, household items, pet supplies, and baby products.
I love using Thrive Market for many of our pantry staples, snacks, and household items.  The pricing is generally far less than anywhere else.  The packaging is put together with such care, it feels like Christmas each time we get a box.
I also suggest keeping an eye out for the free gifts they offer.  I place an order about every two weeks and hold off on ordering till they announce that a free gift is available.

Personal Items

Fitbit

Many people think to use a Fitbit in order to make sure they are being active enough.  I actually got mine for the opposite.  When I was pregnant with adrenal fatigue, I needed something to hold me accountable and make sure I was getting enough sleep and keeping my activity level down.
I use my Fitbit to keep track of my steps, activity, sleep, and heart rate. You can also use the app to track your water consumption and food intake.
Two of my additional favorite features though are probably the built in timer and silent alarm.  Both come in handy for so many reasons.

StitchFix

I am not big on fashion and I hate shopping.  Not a good combination when you need to update your closet.  StitchFix to the rescue!  I don’t have to stress about shopping and trying on a bunch of clothes.  They send me a box with five items once a month – I try them on and decide if I want to keep them or not.  Send back what I don’t want and they charge me for what I keep.  I LOVE this solution and highly recommend it to busy moms everywhere!

Health Products

Garden of Life Prenatal Multivitamin

I love these multivitamins!  I’ve always tested well for them (applied kinesiology) and I’ve been taking them for almost the past decade.  I believe that Garden of Life and its founder Jordan Rubin truly care about producing a quality product.
I also take advantage of the subscribe and save option and get 15% off an already low price through Amazon.

Garden of Life Oceans Mom Prenatal DHA

I have also taken these for awhile and test well for them.  With my adrenal fatigue, I end up taking a double dose to help even out my DHA levels.  Again, a high quality product and brand!

Dr. Crhistopher’s Female Reproductive Formula

If you are pregnant, have recently had a baby, nursing, or think you may become pregnant in your future, be sure to support your reproductive organs with some nourishing herbs.  This is my go-to along with loose red raspberry leaf tea.

Cold Laser

These little guys are great for a variety of uses.  We originally got ours so that I could use it on my adrenal glands to encourage healing.  It also does wonders for all sorts of skin blemishes as well as joint and muscle pain.

Household Items

Berkey Water Filter

We love our Berkey Water Filter.  Not only does it remove the fluoride and other harmful chemicals from our water, but it also greatly improves the taste of the water.  We have a Big Berkey, but strictly because it is what fits on our counter in the mud room under the cabinet.  If I had more space, I would have gone with a larger size.

Instant Pot

Not only does it make it possible to get dinner from frozen to ready to eat quickly, but it is also multi purpose.  We use ours to make homemade yogurt, hard boiled eggs, rice, and more.

Boll & Branch

I can not tell you how much we LOVE these sheets!  Hubby was skeptical when I told him about them, but with a full 30-day money back guarantee, he was willing to give them a try.
I have done very little research in the world of textiles, but I do understand that the cotton market is pretty nasty.  I am purposefully staying “in the dark” for the time being, because I know we can not afford to replace all of the conventional cotton in our home at this point.
I figured that our sheets were a great place to start though.  We’ve had a set of sheets for a little while now and I look forward to replacing all of our bedding over time.  They also came out with a line of towels that I can’t wait to try.

Planner Supplies

Levenger Circa Punch (large)

This is my favorite punch for disc binding.  You can punch up to 15 pages at a time, which makes it the most efficient.  It is pretty solid and most of the moving parts appear to be metal, so I am hopeful that it will stay strong for years to come.

I choose the Levenger disc binding system over all the other options because of how smoothly the papers flip using this punch.  I have tried a few of the others and they tend to stick along the way which makes it a pain to get from one section of your planner to another.

Levenger Circa Clincher Discs (pen holder)

I love these discs because you can put a pen down the middle of them!  These are 1.5″, so make sure that your stack of pages going into the book is at least half this size, otherwise it will seem really flimsy.

Levenger Circa Discs – Set of 22, 0.75″

One size smaller, the 0.75″ discs hold about 0.35″-1″ of paper.  I’m sure that overfilling them is not suggested, but I have found it tolerable to have them stuffed a bit if it is temporary.

Levenger Circa Punch (medium)

I have not tried this exact punch since I have it’s big brother, but have heard great things about it.  You are able to punch up to 6 sheets at a time, so I believe that if you are not using this for anything other than your monthly planner, it should be sufficient in size.

Levenger Metalic Discs 1.5″

If you are looking for something a little more classy to spice up your planner, they make discs in rose gold, gold, platinum, and silver.

Levenger Circa Discs – Set of 22, 0.50″

One size smaller, the 0.50″ discs hold about 0.25″-0.75″ of paper.  I’m sure that overfilling them is not suggested, but I have found it tolerable to have them stuffed a bit if it is temporary.

Levenger Circa Punch (small)

Although this punch can only do one or maybe two pages at a time, I think it would be handy to have around as a secondary punch.  I keep the large punch in my office, which happens to be in the basement.  We often need a punch upstairs, so I think I will grab one of these to keep in our school room.

Levenger Circa Disks – Set of 22 1.5″

These are by far the most economical option that Levenger offers for discs.  The 1.5″ discs hold about 0.75″-1.75″ of paper.  I’m sure that overfilling them is not suggested, but I have found it tolerable to have them stuffed a bit if it is temporary.

Levenger Circa Starter Kit

If you are looking for a quick way to get started with a disc bound planner, this is a great way to go.  You receive a set of 3/4″ discs, 5 plastic tab dividers, a translucent cover (front and back), and a page finder (great for marking the current day in your planner for quick reference.

If you are not planning on creating your own laminated covers, this is a good option because the covers are larger in size and cover up the tabs so they don’t stick out.

As your planner grows, you may find that the tab dividers are a bit thick and can make the whole thing a bit too bulky.  They are high quality though, and you don’t have to worry about them bending or tearing.

Levenger Circa Discs – Set of 22, 1″

Another economical option for smaller discs.  The 1″ discs hold about 0.5″-1.25″ of paper.  I’m sure that overfilling them is not suggested, but I have found it tolerable to have them stuffed a bit if it is temporary.
